One new imported novel coronavirus case was reported in the city on Friday, when three imported cases -- two from Pakistan and one from the UK -- were discharged upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Saturday morning.

The newly diagnosed patient, a Chinese studying in France, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on June 29 and was put under quarantine. He developed symptoms and was confirmed infected.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 373 imported cases, 347 have been discharged upon recovery and 26 are still hospitalized.

Two imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Friday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery and one is hospitalized for treatment. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
