1 new COVID-19 case reported in Shanghai

One new imported novel coronavirus case was reported in the city on Sunday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.

The newly diagnosed patient is a Chinese living in Mexico, who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on July 10.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 59 close contacts on the plane have been put under quarantine and observation at designated place.

So far, of all the 383 imported cases, 355 have been discharged upon recovery and 28 are still hospitalized.

Three imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Sunday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery and one is hospitalized for treatment. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
