Shanghai Party Secretary Li Qiang talked with Larry Fink, chairman and chief executive of global investment management corporation BlackRock Inc through a video conference on July 24.

Li introduced Shanghai’s epidemic control work as well as economic and social development and thanked Fink for his company’s participation in the construction of Shanghai’s international financial center.

Li said he is confident about long-term economic development of China despite the COVID-19 epidemic. Shanghai will improve its financial ecosystem to provide better services for financial institutes from home and abroad. He welcomed BlackRock to seize the opportunity of development by expanding its business and investment in the Chinese market.

Fink voiced optimism about China’s economic recovery and said that he believes Shanghai will continue to help enterprises and clients build a better future.
