Intervals between Metro Line 2 trains will be further shortened for the China International Import Expo in November this year, the city's Metro company said on Monday.

Currently, the shortest interval between trains on Line 2 is 2 minutes and 40 seconds.

This year's import expo will be held again at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, which is near East Xujing Station on Line 2 and Zhuguang Road Station on Line 17.

At East Xujing Station, which expects a huge volume of travelers to attend the expo, the company said it's considering ways to combine temperature screening and security checks for passengers.

More ticket machines and interactive robots using artificial intelligence will be used at this station to reduce crowds at service windows, the company said.

During the expo, mask rules will be strictly enforced at all Metro stations. Core stations and gateway stations will step up disinfection.

If necessary, restriction measures will be introduced to reduce crowding at stations and on trains, the company said.
