Authorities from Longquan City in neighboring Zhejiang Province will distribute consumption coupons worth more than 10 million yuan (US$1.43 million) to Shanghai residents through the end of this year as they step up cooperation with Shanghai and integration into the Yangtze River Delta region.

The coupons cover admissions to tourist attractions in the city, discounts on local agricultural and specialty products, as well as Longquan celadon and swords which the city is known for, the Longquan City government announced at the Shanghai International Convention Center in the Pudong New Area on Sunday.

A total of 11 projects were signed between Longquan and Shanghai covering business investment, talent, countryside development and product procurement.

The promotion of Longquan celadon, Longquan's rural and ecological environment development, its orthopedics and traumatology hospital, a demonstration base of ecological circulation breeding and Longquan vegetable sales are some of the items on the agenda.

The Longquan (Shanghai) Cultural and Tourism Promotion Center was unveiled at the same time.

Longquan will host 11 events such as art exhibitions, eco and health products promotion, group tours, shopping festivals and investment promotions in Shanghai through the end of this year to promote its cultural and tourism resources and agricultural products, the city government announced.

"Longquan will beef up cooperation with Shanghai in industry, culture and tourism, and science and technology innovation to complement each other and achieve a win-win situation," said Wu Songping, deputy Party secretary and mayor of Longquan.

Longquan has 110 peaks with an altitude above 1,500 meters, and the main peak of the Fengyang Mountain National Nature Reserve has an altitude of 1,929 meters, the highest in the Yangtze River Delta region.

It also boasts the Baiyun Rock scenic area, Longquan Celadon Museum and Longquan Mountain scenic area.
