One new imported coronavirus case was reported in Shanghai on Monday, while two imported patients — one from the Philippines and the other from Tanzania — were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Tuesday morning.

The new case is a Chinese visiting family in the US, who arrived back at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 2.

The new patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 25 close contacts on the plane have been put under quarantine and observation at designated place.

So far, of all the 408 imported cases, 392 have been discharged upon recovery and 16 are still hospitalized.

Four imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Monday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
