Post-production for drama “Be Together” is underway in the city, officials told a Shanghai Television Festival forum.

Produced by Shanghai Media Group, the drama takes a documentary-style approach to tell 10 touching stories about China’s fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Among the characters are medical workers, young volunteers, people who built the Huoshenshan Hospital, community workers and delivery staff. The drama is a panoramic depiction of the unsung heroes.

Scriptwriter Gao Xuan said the drama is largely based on the news and real events involving many brave and dedicated ordinary people. Each story is told from a different perspective.

Director Teng Huatao said many celebrated actors had volunteered to play roles in the drama.

It is expected to air in September.
