Shanghai reports 18 new imported COVID-19 cases

Shanghai reported 18 new imported COVID-19 cases on Sunday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.

All of the imported cases are Chinese nationals flying from the United Arab Emirates.

Among them, three departed from the UAE on August 5 and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport the next day, while the others left the UAE and arrived in Shanghai via Sri Lanka on August 7.

So far, of all the 444 imported cases, 396 have been discharged upon recovery and 48 are still hospitalized.

Seven imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Sunday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
