A first look at this year's CIIE buses, which are 12 meters long and will be powered by electricity.

The city’s Jiushi Bus Group has revealed its service plan for this year’s CIIE, including a new bus model along with an operational alert system to ensure vehicles’ safety.

According to Jiushi, the new buses will be new energy vehicles equipped with a newly-designed step making it easier for passengers to get on and off, with Its height controlled by the driver.

The driver’s cab has also been upgraded with 1.8-meter-tall glass panels to protect them from direct contact with passengers.

Bus crew will be given safety training including psychological counseling.

The alert system enables buses to be monitored in the case of an emergency. The company’s command center at Shenkun Road will also have improved communication platforms.

Bus Route 71, one of the city's busiest lines, will extend its services as last year, with a branch line to drop and pick up passengers at the expo venue, the National Exhibition and Convention Center. It will operate from 8am to 7pm.

The company will pay special attention to the prevention and control of COVID-19 through multiple emergency drills and coordination.

An emergency response plan has been drawn up for epidemic prevention in core areas, focusing on toughened measures such as body temperature measuring, ventilation, disinfection and personal protection.
