3 new COVID-19 cases reported in Shanghai

They are one Russian, one Briton and one Chinese. Meanwhile, four patients have been discharged from hospital, and four imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

Shanghai reported three imported novel coronavirus cases on Sunday while four patients were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.

The first patient is a Russian who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 14.

The second is a Briton who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 14.

The third one is a Chinese working in Singapore who arrived at the airport on August 15.

All have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 126 close contacts on the planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

So far, of all the 486 imported cases, 414 have been discharged upon recovery and 72 are still hospitalized.

Four imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Friday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
