New exit-entry service center in Lingang
An expat seeks advice at the new exit-entry administration service center in the Lingang area.
An exit-entry administration service center has opened near Dishui Lake in the Lingang area to serve local residents and businesses.
The new center saves residents in this part of the Pudong New Area the trouble of going to centers like the one on Minsheng Road, as all regular exit-entry services are provided at the new center.
An overseas talent service specialist also works at the center to take questions from expats regarding any problems they may encounter in the city, such as taxation and tests for professional qualifications.
Xi Minou, vice director of the exit-entry administration office of Pudong’s Public Security Bureau, said the purpose of the service is to make expats feel the city is responsive to their needs.
Xi said the government is considering new measures to attract overseas professionals to work in Shanghai.
Stefanie Xia, vice president of Lenze Drive Systems (Shanghai) Co, who is in charge of the company’s human resources affairs, said the opening of the new center is another example of the good services the Shanghai government provides to foreign businesses. The company is in Lingang, about half an hour by car from the new center.
“The center provides new convenience for expats who work and live here,” she said. “There are a few foreign employees in our company, and every year they need visa services for themselves and for their family members.”
The center is incorporated in the Lingang Special Area International Talent Service Hub. The address is F1, No. 1, Lane 158, Zishan Road. It’s about 10 minutes’ walk from Dishui Lake Metro station and is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
