2 new imported coronavirus cases reported in Shanghai

The city reported two more imported novel coronavirus cases on Saturday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Sunday morning.

The two patients are Philippine sailors who arrived in Shanghai on September 1 as their ship docked for maintenance.

They have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 18 close contacts on the ship have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

Meanwhile, six patients were discharged from hospital upon recovery on Saturday.

So far, of all the 576 imported cases, 531 have been discharged upon recovery and 45 are still hospitalized.

Two imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Saturday, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
