4 imported COVID-19 cases reported in Shanghai

The city reported four new imported novel coronavirus cases on Sunday, while three patients were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.

The first new patient is a Chinese working in Ecuador who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 3.

The second is a Chinese visiting family in the US, who returned to Shanghai on September 3.

The third case is a Chinese working in the Philippines who arrived in Shanghai on September 4.

The last one is a Chinese working in Singapore who arrived at the Shanghai airport on September 5.

All the new patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 150 close contacts on the planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

So far, of all the 580 imported cases, 534 have been discharged upon recovery and 46 are still hospitalized.

One imported suspected cases is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Sunday, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
