Masterclass 'History and Tradition of Italian Cheese' attracts crowds
The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) organized "True Italian Taste – Masterclass History and Tradition of Italian Cheese" on September 5 at Hong Kong Plaza on Huaihai Road M. in Shanghai.
The event is part of the "True Italian Taste" project, promoted and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and carried out by Assocamerestero (the Association of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Worldwide) in cooperation with the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad.
The Masterclass provided the participants with a deep insight into authentic, certified Italian cheese PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) & PGI (Protected geographical Indication), in order to emphasize the special peculiarities of the Italian cuisine, an extraordinary combination of variety, high quality, healthy raw materials and amazing flavors.
The public was invited to take part in the roundtable "A Cheese Journey in Italy" where the audience had an opportunity to learn more about authentic Italian cheese from ancient to modern times, passing on the sustainability and ways of making the cheese at home.
The events ended up with a cooking class with lasagna chef preparing three Italian dishes — caprese salad, eggplants Parmesan style and tiramisu.
