Highlights of Hangzhou are now on display
The city of Hangzhou, in neighboring Zhejiang Province, is hosting a weekend tourism promotion campaign in Shanghai, featuring intangible cultural heritage displays, performances and lucky draws.
A Shaoju Opera performance from Hangzhou's Xiaoshan District, Yueju Opera performance by Fuyang District, a lion dance performance by Lin'an District, a Muju Opera performance by Chun'an County and a paper-cut display from craftsmen of Tonglu County were held at the Happy Plaza in the Pudong New Area on Saturday.
Hangzhou, famous as a center of tourism, also brings its intangible cultural heritage products and tourism souvenirs to Shanghai.
Cultural and tourism authorities shared the city's past and present with Shanghai residents and tourists based on the city's history and culture, innovation, ecology and civilization.
Tourism routes stringing together Hangzhou's historical and cultural tourism essence have been released recently, including the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, China National Silk Museum, the Grand Canal, Tangxi ancient town and Lingyin Temple.
Shanghai is an important source of tourists for Hangzhou, and the promotion aims to speed up the tourism industry's recovery, boost cultural and tourism consumption, and promote the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region, the Hangzhou City Administration of Culture, Radio and Television, and Tourism said.
