Exhibition highlights need for cyber security

A cyber security promotion week for the Yangtze River Delta Ecology and Greenery Integration Demonstration Zone was launched in Qingpu District on Sunday.
It will feature a variety of events including a poster exhibition and lecture to raise awareness of cyber security as part of the China Cyber Security Week from Monday to September 20.
Winning entries in a poster design competition from university students with the theme of cyber security, the first of its kind in the nation, are showcased in an exhibition at Lido Way, a cultural, tourism and shopping complex in Qingpu District. The exhibition will continue in cultural and tourism venues in the district.
The works were submitted by students from Shanghai Tongji University, Donghua University, Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai University of Engineering Science and Shanghai Institute of Technology.
"Children are particularly vulnerable to vicious information online," said Wang Pengbo, a student of Tongji University who has two works on display.
"I pay attention to cyber security on campus and I hope there will be a clean and pure online environment for the next generation with my poster works. It calls for joint efforts from schools, parents and society."
In total, 78 poster works are on display.
The posters are colorful and innovative.
"The posters cover a wide range of areas such as Internet technology security, finance cyber security, campus cyber security and personal information protection," said Jin Cui, deputy director of the Qingpu District Administration of Culture and Tourism. "They have distinctive themes and are impressive."
Experts from Qingpu in Shanghai, Wujiang District in Jiangsu Province and Jiashan County in Zhejiang Province held a lecture in Qingpu on Sunday to popularize knowledge about cyber security with webcasts.
By March 2020, China has 904 million netizens, growing 75.08 million from 2018.
Personal information leaks, Internet swindles, viruses and stolen accounts or passwords are some of the most common cyber security problems confronting Chinese netizens, said Zhang Zixi with Qingpu District Public Security Bureau.
Eighteen short video works sought from netizens in the Yangtze River Delta Ecology and Greenery Integration Demonstration Zone will be screened during the week.
In Qingpu, a cyber security competition, a cyber security knowledge exhibition, and cyber security knowledge tests will be held in the following week as well.
