The city reported four new imported novel coronavirus cases on Wednesday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Thursday morning.

The first two patients are Chinese working in Equatorial Guinea and India respectively. They transferred to the same flight in France and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 14.

The third and the fourth patients are Chinese working in Singapore who arrived at the Shanghai airport on the same flight on September 14.

The new patients have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 150 close contacts on the same planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

Meanwhile, five patients were discharged from hospital upon recovery. So far, of all the 612 imported cases, 574 have been discharged upon recovery and 38 are still hospitalized.

One imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Wednesday, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
