Shanghai's residents can stay calm as over 1,400 air-raid sirens sound simultaneously across the city on Saturday to mark National Defense Education Day.

Don't panic if you hear the sound of sirens around noon on Saturday.

You can stay calm when over 1,400 air-raid sirens fill the air across the city as they mark National Defense Education Day.

The sirens will be running from 11:35am to 11:58am at three-minute intervals, in the order of early warning, air-raid alarm and all-clear.

Air defense drills will also be carried out in each district to raise public awareness.
