The annual Jinshan Seafood Culture Festival began in the coastal Jinshan District over the weekend.

Until the end of October, visitors can taste fresh seafood and local specialties as well as experience a variety of cultural activities such as making yellow croaker dumplings, weaving fishing nets and building traditional dinghies at the Jinshanzui Fishing Village, the city's last remaining fishing village.

Every Saturday themed activities will be held allowing people to spend a night on recreational vehicles, enjoy a beer drinking party and walk around a unique coastal night fair.

To offer the best of Jinshan to visitors, the local government has promoted a 199-yuan (US$ 29) deal including accommodation and tickets to several sites including a museum and beach.

Also, the festival has involved Daishan County of the Zhoushan Archipelago, the nation’s largest fishing ground, in neighboring Zhejiang Province under the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region. The two areas will seek further cooperation in tourism  to better promote coastal fishing culture.
