Pudong holds online biopharma recruitment fair

An online job-recruitment fair held to relieve talent shortages of biopharmaceutical companies in the Pudong New Area kicked off on Monday.

Over 100 biopharmaceutical companies in the area, from industrial giants such as BD China to startups like Hrain Biotechnology, are looking to fill job vacancies.

Vacancies are listed in new medicine development, clinical trials, business management, biological medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, medical service and medical instruments, among other areas.

Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine Co, which has a research and development center in Pudong’s Zhangjiang area, said the company is eying the global market. To accelerate its global expansion, it is in need of researchers in molecular biology, and it hopes to find skilled recruits through the fair.

Biopharmaceuticals has become one of the pillar industries of Pudong, which is home to a cluster of industrial leaders. In Zhangjiang Science City, there are over 1,000 biopharmaceutical companies, mostly engaged in developing new medicines and medical instruments. They are in need of high-end professionals in cutting-edge research fields such as cell therapy.
