1 imported COVID-19 case reported in Shanghai

The city reported one new imported novel coronavirus case on Monday, while four patients were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Tuesday morning.

The new patient, a Chinese working in the Philippines, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 18.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 34 close contacts on the same plane have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

So far, of all the 633 imported cases, 588 have been discharged upon recovery and 45 are still hospitalized.

No imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Monday, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
