The Pengpu Four Seasons Park is surrounded by residences.

A new park that opened in the midst of residences in Jing'an District on Tuesday is like a mini version of New York’s Central Park.

The Pengpu Four Seasons Park covers 91,000 square meters, more than 12 soccer fields, on Linfen Road in the densely-populated Pengpu Xincun community.

It is the only large park in the area, offering local residents a place to enjoy the natural scenery, walk their pets and exercise.

The park, with greenery covering more than 70 percent of the land, has plants that flower throughout the year, including plum and cherry, Chinese roses and wisteria.

The park features jogging and walking paths, fitness facilities, a pets’ playground and traditional Chinese garden elements.

Local residents are delighted to have a park in the community.

District authorities said the side used to be overrun with wild grass and illegal structures. Renovation began at the end of 2017.

They said the park not only improves the local environment but also helps bring neighbors closer together.
