Autumn has officially arrived, according to data from the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau, with five consecutive days of average temperatures below 22 degrees Celsius since October 4.

The weekend will be cloudy with temperatures expected to be between 18 and 25 degrees, the bureau said.

But rain is likely next week with lower temperatures of 17 to 23 degrees from Tuesday.

Hanlu, or cold dew, the 17th solar term in the Chinese lunar calendar which fell on Sunday, brings a decline in temperatures, especially in the morning and at night.
