Elderly experts named 'models of ethics'

Eleven leading medical experts, all over 80 years old and having been involved in the health-care industry for over 50 years, were honored along with 35 young and middle-aged medical professionals for contributions to the fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The “models of medical ethics” prize is the first of its kind to be awarded in the city.

Of the 11 experts, five are over 90 and six are in their 80s. Dr Chen Haozhu, a hematologist from Zhongshan Hospital, and Dr Wang Zhenyi, a cardiologist from Ruijin Hospital, were the oldest. Both are 96 years old.
