The volunteers will help direct visitors to the expo, serve VIP guests and media, manage trade statistics, assist in administrative work, provide first-aid support and advise visitors on anti-COVID tips.

The volunteers, recruited from 40 universities and colleges in Shanghai, have already started to receive training for their jobs. Some veteran volunteers have served as lecturers to impart their knowledge and experience.

All of the volunteers will get a nucleic acid test before going to their posts.

Meanwhile, 95 volunteers recruited from all walks of life have been working for the administration of the import expo from September. Other volunteers will work in different parts of the city to smooth  the stay of visitors.

This year’s import expo will be held from November 5 to 10.
