Shanghai media top country in non-smoking coverage

Media reports about Shanghai governmental departments’ commitment toward and implementation of no-smoking offices topped all provincial governments, becoming a model to boost a non-smoking social environment, said the Shanghai Health Enhance Commission on Monday.

The Chinese Center for Disease Prevent and Control conducted a check on media exposure of regional government's practices of building non-smoking offices and Shanghai had the largest amount of media reports and received the highest remarks from the public.

There are 20 role models of non-smoking offices in Shanghai’s governmental facilities and the city vowed to have all city-level governmental buildings become non-smoking units by the end of 2020. District-level governmental buildings are to fulfill the task by 2022.
