The 2020 Shanghai Chrysanthemum Exhibition will kick off at Shanghai Gongqing Forest Park in Yangpu District on Monday, featuring 150,000 potted flowers in more than 500 varieties. 

The exhibition will last through November 26 and comprise four outdoor display areas. 

There will be eight attractions featuring greenery sculpture, flower landscapes and gardens, presenting chrysanthemum and autumn scenery. 

They represent the rapid change of the city, the unity of the Chinese people in the fight against COVID-19 and their beautiful expectations for the future. 

Famous chrysanthemum varieties and new species of the flower will also be featured. 

Chinese chrysanthemum culture and art will be showcased via poems, paintings and stories related to the flower. 

River landscapes with floating boats filled with chrysanthemums will be part of the display.

A variety of activities related to chrysanthemum culture will be hosted during the exhibition.

A forest photo exhibition featuring more than 100 works will run from November 1 to December 13 at the park and classes for shutterbugs will be offered. 

An autumn landscape photo competition will be held as well. 

A Yangtze River Delta Chinese opera festival will run between November 12 and 14 at the park, featuring Huju, Huaiju and Yueju opera performances related to the flower. 

A chrysanthemum competition, chrysanthemum webcasts, gardening classes and a chrysanthemum bazaar will also be held during the exhibition.
