A video showing the moment last night's quake struck mid-performance
Audience members enjoying a stage performance about 2008's Wenchuan earthquake when last night's 7.0-magnitude earthquake jolted the area mistook the quake for elaborate special effects.
The actors on the stage at Jiuzhai Romance Park in Zhangzha Town reacted quickly and ran away. However, the audience mistakenly regarded the shaking and electricity glitches as special effects of the performance.
Unfortunately, rescuers later found a body in the debris who was confirmed to be a female staff member of the performance center.
