Kindergarten teacher killed with nail gun, suspect commits suicide

A 19-year-old kindergarten teacher was shot dead with a nail gun at the entrance of a residential complex in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, around 7am on September 18.

A 19-year-old kindergarten teacher was shot dead with a nail gun at the entrance of a residential complex in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, around 7am on September 18, before the suspect killed himself.

The teacher, surnamed Mo, was confirmed dead on the scene. Local police soon identified the suspect as a 25-year-old man surnamed Qin. Police found Qin’s body, together with the nail gun, near a farm around 5:50pm on September 19.

According to initial investigations, Qin had "emotional entanglements" with Mo before he killed her and himself.

The local public security bureau had initially offered a reward of 30,000 yuan (US$4,553) for anyone who could offer information leading to the arrest of the suspect. 

As a security video showed, two primary school students witnessed the whole murder. Local police rushed to the scene at 7:20am after receiving reports from the public and called an ambulance as well.

Further investigation is still underway.
