10 killed in Tianjin high rise fire
Ten people were killed in a fire in a building in northern China's Tianjin early Friday, local authorities said.
The fire broke out on the 38th floor of an apartment building in the city's Hexi District, according to the local fire department. Firefighters received a report at 4 a.m, reaching the scene about 10 minutes later.
The fire was extinguished at 6:40 a.m. Firefighters said an area of about 300 square meters was burned.
Interior decoration materials were believed to have caused the fire. People responsible for the fire have been put under police control.
Ten people have died in the fire while five others had minor injuries.
Further investigation is underway.
