The Communist Party of China will consolidate and deepen friendly cooperation with political parties worldwide, Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi said yesterday.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting in Beijing, Yang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, called on the CPC and political parties worldwide to contribute to building a community of a shared future for mankind.

Referring to the keynote speech made by Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, at the opening ceremony on Friday, Yang said it expressed the Party’s determination to work with political parties worldwide to promote global development, share global prosperity and guide the world’s future.

The international community spoke highly of the keynote speech and the contribution made by the CPC, he said.

Yang called on political parties to build a peaceful world, contribute to global development, and safeguard the international order.

The meeting also released the Beijing Initiative at the closing ceremony. “We call on political parties around the world to join us in building world peace, contributing to global development and safeguarding the international order,” the initiative said.

It also called on political parties to facilitate the building of partnerships, contribute to building world peace, promote global development, encourage mutual learning among civilizations, and be the guardians of ecology and the environment.

The delegates agreed to respect each other’s choice of paths of development and values, and encourage mutual learning among civilizations, according to the document.

Political parties should follow the spirit of harmony among diversity, encourage countries to replace estrangement with exchange, clashes with mutual learning and superiority with coexistence.

The document also proposed that the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-level Meeting should be institutionalized, and become a high-level platform for political dialogue with broad representation and global influence.

Khatamjon Ketmonov, chairman of the People Democracy Party of Uzbekistan, said a better future has to be built on diversity.

Many speakers attributed China’s success to the choice of a path based on its own characteristics and praised its standing of “not exporting the Chinese model.”

While having confidence in its own path, China has always respected the choice of other countries, said Shiferaw Tekle-Mariam, head of Secretariat of the Council of Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front.

Ilyas El Omari, general secretary of the Authenticity and Modernity Party of Morocco, added that China’s development has offered new alternatives for developing countries.

The CPC has maintained regular contact with more than 400 political parties and organizations in about 160 countries and regions.

The meeting attracted over 600 representatives of nearly 300 political parties and organizations from more than 120 countries.
