Gao Chengyong, who raped and murdered 11 women in northwest China, was executed Thursday morning, a court announced on its Weibo account.

Gao, 55, was sentenced to death in March 2018 for robbery, murder, rape and disrespecting corpses. He was found guilty of raping and killing 11 women in Baiyin City, Gansu Province, and Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, between 1988 and 2002, Baiyin City’s Intermediate People’s Court said.

Gao didn’t appeal the death sentence and his execution was carried out after the approval of the Supreme People’s Court, the statement read.
