Police are looking for a suspect alleged to have killed one person and injured another 19 in knife attacks in Fuzhou, a city in southeast China’s Fujian Province, local police said on Tuesday.

The 48-year-old suspect, surnamed Hou, had a dispute with his ex-wife and her boyfriend, surnamed Zou, at her rented house in Jiangbian Village around 8:30pm on Monday. Hou stabbed Zou during the fight and fled the scene, police said.

During his escape, Hou hijacked an e-bike and wounded 19 people along Pushang Avenue before jumping into the river, police said.

By 5:40am on Tuesday, Zou has died from his injuries while the others are under treatment or have been discharged from hospital, police added.
