A mini-bus carrying Chinese tourists overturned in Iran's southern province of Fars on Monday, injuring eight of them, official IRNA news agency reported.

"A minibus carrying the Chinese tourists turned over on Shahid Abad bend of Khorrambid County, on Shiraz-Isfahan road, and nine people were injured," Mohammad Javad Moradian, chief of the province's Accident and Medical Emergency Management Center, told IRNA.

The center was informed of the accident at 9:45am local time (0515 GMT) on Monday morning, said Moradian.

The eight lightly injured Chinese tourists as well as the driver were dispatched to hospital and discharged later after receiving preliminary medical treatments, he added.

The cause of accident is still under investigation.

The roads in Fars were slippery on Monday after the rain overnight.
