Man in custody after 11 injured in eastern China knife attack
Eleven people, including children, were injured after a man, who is alleged to have a history of mental illness, attacked others with a knife in a city in eastern China Thursday morning.
The suspect, 33-year-old Guo Kaibin, was apprehended by police officers and passers-by after the attack at around 7:12am in Ji’an City, Jiangxi Province, local police said in an online statement.
All the injured have been sent to hospital for treatment, and none of them suffer life-threatening injuries.
Family members of Guo claimed he has a history of mental issues, according to the statement.
Investigation is still ongoing.
