Traveling in the mainland

Domestic travel market kept booming in 2018, as people traveling within the country were estimated to make about 5.5 billion trips and the tourism revenue was estimated to reach 5.13 trillion yuan (US$765 billion). 

Traveling overseas

Overseas trips made by Chinese people in 2018 were estimated to reach 148 million, up 13.5 percent from a year earlier.  

Overseas tourists to the mainland

It was estimated that about 140 million overseas tourists traveled to the Chinese mainland in 2018, up 0.5 percent from the year before.
