The State Film Administration unveiled on Tuesday new measures to support the further development of Hong Kong and Macao film industries on the mainland.

There would be no quantitative restriction on Hong Kong and Macao people participating in the production of mainland films and no restrictions on the proportion of actors or on mainland elements in films co-produced by the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao, said an administration statement.

Application fees for mainland, Hong Kong and Macao co-productions would be canceled as part of the measures.

Hong Kong and Macao films and film workers may apply for the mainland film awards such as the Huabiao Awards, the Golden Rooster and the Hundred Flowers Awards, the statement said, adding that Hong Kong and Macao enterprises may apply for rewards for distributing and promoting outstanding domestic films in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and abroad.

The administration said these measures will be implemented within the framework of the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement and the CEPA between the mainland and Macao.
