A Canadian citizen and a Chinese citizen have been sentenced to death for the manufacture and sale of drugs by a court in Jiangmen City, south China's Guangdong Province.

The Canadian, whose full name was not provided, and Wu Ziping, leaders of an 11-member drug gang, produced and sold 64 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 366 grams of another type of drug from July to November 2012 in Taishan, Guangdong.

Five other members of the gang, one American and four Mexicans were given death sentences with two-year reprieves or life imprisonment, the court said.

The other four members of the gang, all Chinese, were given unspecified jail terms as they played minor roles in the organization.
