Lawyers should not only participate in dealing with IPR disputes but also engage themselves in legislation and formulation of international treaties, Wang Zhengzhi, director of the All China Lawyers Association's intellectual property committee.

The copyright disputes centering on the use of images, articles and videos grow rapidly along with massive development of "we media" platforms such as Weibo and WeChat, which calls for greater protection on IPR, Wang said.

Wang said the committee would play an active role in promoting the IPR protection through participating in IPR legislation and law revision, as well as IPR training.
