Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province arrested a suspect for cross-border drug trafficking and seized more than 43kg of opium, local authorities said Tuesday.

Receiving information on drug trafficking on June 11, the police in Longchuan county arrested a 29-year-old suspect and seized packages of opium from his motorbike on the same day.

The suspect confessed to the drug trafficking after interrogation. The case is under further investigation.
