Two people are missing after an explosion at a gas plant workshop in the city of Yima, Henan Province, Friday, said local authorities.
The explosion happened around 5:45pm in the air separation unit of the Yima gas factory of the Henan Coal Gas (Group) Co., Ltd. The explosion did not occur in the gas tank areas, and all production has been stopped, according to a source of Yima city government.
The explosion caused multiple injuries and the injured were sent to the hospital, said the source.
The exact number of casualties remains unknown.
Further investigation is underway.
