Shan's Rolls Royce caused considerable inconvenience to hospital patients, staff and visitors.

The woman, who blocked the emergency exit of a hospital with her luxury Rolls-Royce car, is suspected of forging and selling identity cards, Beijing police said in an online statement Tuesday.

The woman surnamed Shan was already under detention. Beijing police are cooperating with the police of Shan’s birthplace on the case.

Shan parked the Rolls-Royce in front of the emergency exit of Beijing Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital for over an hour on August 14, 2019 and refused to move the car when asked by traffic police.

The car was brought by Shan’s husband in June 2018 and registered under her name.

In order to have a more auspicious license plate, she transferred the car to another man named He who owns a license plate starting with “A88,” but continued to use the car herself. Under the current vehicle registration regulations, a license plate cannot be transferred, police said.

The license plate is perhaps not as auspicious as Shan once believed.
