Two locations in east China’s Jiangxi Province have reported outbreaks of Dengue fever, with 641 cases confirmed, provincial health authorities said Friday.

The cases were recorded in Zhangshu City and Xingan County. As of Thursday, 392 patients diagnosed with Dengue had been treated and discharged, the Jiangxi Health Commission said on its website.

No serious cases or deaths have been reported, it said.

The outbreaks were said to have spread from residents who contracted the disease while traveling in Southeast Asia.

Local health authorities have stepped up measures to eliminate mosquitoes, which are a vector for the disease, adding that the situation is “under control.”
