Office of the Commissioner of Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Thursday condemned the collusion of certain US politicians with Hong Kong separatists.

On Wednesday, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi welcomed "Hong Kong independence" activist Joshua Wong to the US Capitol, and showed her support to the anti-government protesters in Hong Kong.

The spokesperson of the Commissioner's Office expressed indignation over and firm opposition against the remarks and actions of Pelosi, saying that she "flagrantly colluded" with Hong Kong separatists, and meddled with Hong Kong affairs, which are China's internal affairs, in the name of supporting "freedom and justice."

"(The remarks and actions) are at odds with the American politicians' claimed support for 'One Country, Two Systems' and have fully exposed their hidden political agenda," said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson pointed out that anyone without bias will acknowledge that the policies of "One Country, Two Systems," "the people of Hong Kong governing Hong Kong" and a high degree of autonomy in the SAR have been faithfully implemented since Hong Kong's return to its motherland 22 years ago, and that the people of Hong Kong are enjoying unprecedented democracy, rights and freedom under the law.

"At the same time, it has to be emphasized that no one has the right or freedom to carry out separatist activities or a color revolution here, to act above the law and undermine law and order, or to bring disasters upon the city by colluding with foreign forces," said the spokesperson. "Any anti-China elements who want to destabilize Hong Kong will be condemned to everlasting infamy as national scum."

The spokesperson said that stopping violence, ending the chaos and restoring order represent the freedom and justice that the overwhelming majority of people in Hong Kong truly aspire to. "We urge the relevant American politicians to rid themselves of pride and prejudice, follow the mainstream public opinion in Hong Kong, and immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs as a whole."

Pelosi has repeatedly voiced her support of violence in Hong Kong. In June, she called the demonstrations in Hong Kong "a beautiful sight to behold," when radical protesters were assaulting police officers with bricks, home-made spears, and petrol bombs.

In August, Pelosi made statements to support the protesters, in which she hailed rioters as "courageous" and claimed that Hong Kong police use "aggression and abuse," calling for the passing of a so-called Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act by the US Congress.
