Mainland association calls for extending operation of additional flights to Taiwan in Spring Festival
China Air Transport Association has called for prolonging the operation hours of additional flights to Taiwan during the Spring Festival.
Taiwan aviation authority's previous response on the extension of operation hours during the festival does not conform to reality, according to the cross-Strait air transport committee, a branch of the association.
Air transport between the mainland and Taiwan will be in great demand in January 2020, with tickets of some busy flights already in shortage, according to the committee.
The committee said it fully understands the intention of Taiwanese heading home during the Spring Festival and is willing to try its utmost to offer help.
In order to meet the needs of Taiwanese people returning home, technical personnel of mainland aviation business, in September and October, proposed that the operation hours of additional flights should be prolonged during the Spring Festival, however, this was refused by Taiwan aviation authority.
The technical personnel sent the requests to the Taiwan civil aviation authority again on October 24 but has received no further response.
