NE China province sends over 2,000 people to clear snow on expressways

The transport department of Heilongjiang has dispatched more than 2,000 people as of Sunday to clear the snow-blanketed expressways after a snowstorm hit the province.

The transport department of northeast China's Heilongjiang has dispatched more than 2,000 people as of Sunday to clear the snow-blanketed expressways after a snowstorm hit the province.

Expressways in the province were closed for over 36 hours as of Tuesday morning.

The company in charge of the operation of the expressways in the province has also scattered 1,400 cubic meters of anti-slip materials and over 700 tonnes of snow-melting agent on the expressways.

Traffic resumed on two major expressways -- Hada Expressway and Hatong Expressway on Tuesday morning.

It is expected that other expressways will open successively on Tuesday afternoon.
