The public holidays for 2020 were outlined in a calendar released by the State Council general office on Thursday.

The New Year's Day holiday will just be one day on January 1. Spring Festival will run from January 24 to 30, but January 19 (Sunday) and February 1 (Saturday) will be working days to compensate for the long holiday.

Qingming Festival will be from April 4 to 6.

The Labor Day holiday will run from May 1 to 5, with April 26 (Sunday) and May 9 (Saturday) working days.

The Dragon Boat Festival break will be from June 25 to 27, with June 28 (Sunday) a working day.

The Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday will run from October 1 to 8 but September 27 (Sunday) and October 10 (Saturday) will be working days.

People will have 27 days off in the six gazetted public holidays, but the actual holiday days add up to 11 when weekends are excluded and extra working days factored in.
