Man arrested for knife attack at Beijing hospital

Cui Zhenguo, an attacker who injured four people at a hospital in Beijing, has been arrested on suspicion of intentional homicide, local authorities said Wednesday.

His arrest was approved by the Beijing People's Procuratorate on Wednesday, a day after Beijing police handed him over to the procuratorate on charges of intentional homicide, according to the procuratorate.

Four people, including three medical personnel, were injured in the knife attack at the Beijing Chaoyang Hospital on Monday. Their lives are not at risk.

The incident happened at about 2 p.m. when Cui, 36, attacked others with a kitchen knife before fleeing the scene. He was later apprehended by police officers and security staff at the hospital.
