A 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit the western Mongolian province of Govi-Altai on Monday evening, according to the country's Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics.

The quake occurred around 46 km northeast of Altai soum of the province at 11:04pm local time, the institute said.

The quake was felt strongly across the province, and there is no immediate report of damage, it added.
