Hundreds take part in 'rookie-friendly' triathlon
More than 900 competitors from more than 30 countries and regions took part in the fifth Jinshan City Beach Triathlon on Sunday morning.
The challenge offered participants the choice between an Olympic official distance triathlon or a sprint distance triathlon.
German competitor Peter Wolkowicz was crowned in the official distance triathlon, where he completed 1.5 kilometers of swimming, 40 kilometers of cycling and 10 kilometers of running in 1 hour, 58 minutes and 13 seconds.
In the female group, Xia Jiqing took the championship with a time of 2 hours, 33 minutes and 13 seconds.
The challenge is praised by many players as a “rookie-friendly” competition for its matured competitor safety mechanisms and low-difficulty tracks.
